A MESSAGE FROM RON
After 50+ years, it’s time for a new chapter
Dear Friends,
For more than 50 years, art — and the people who appreciate it — has been at the centre of my working life. At this time, I’ve decided to close Gallery de Boer – Fine Art on Owen Sound’s main street and retire from the day-to-day gallery business.
It’s a big decision.
The gallery has been part of downtown Owen Sound for many years, and over that time I’ve had the good fortune to work with extraordinary artists and to place thousands of works of art in homes and collections across the region and well beyond.
But the best part of it has always been the people.
Many of you have been coming through my doors for years — some for decades. We’ve talked about art, searched for just the right painting, watched artists’ careers develop, and occasionally disagreed about what was good and what wasn’t.
I’ve enjoyed all of it.

RETIREMENT & GALLERY CLOSING SALE
Before I close the doors, I’d like to invite you back one more time.
The Retirement & Gallery Closing Sale is on NOW.
There are still hundreds of works of art in the gallery, collected over many years, and it’s time for them to find new homes.
Paintings, works on paper, sculpture, Indigenous art, prints, artists’ proofs, photography, historical pieces, and much more.
During the sale, the art will be substantially reduced, with prices up to 55% below market value.
So yes, it’s a sale — and a very good one. But I’d also like it to be a chance to see old friends and clients before the gallery closes.
Come in, have a look around, find something you love, or simply stop by and say hello.
After 50 plus years, I have a lot to be grateful for. Thank you for your friendship, your business, your enthusiasm for art, and for helping make Gallery de Boer – Fine Art part of Owen Sound’s main street for all these years.
I hope I’ll see you soon.
Warmly,
Ron
